Did you know that tech can also be used to help solve real-world problems? The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are a great way to learn about global challenges and how you can make a difference by applying your coding skills to create an invention.
Qualcomm is a local San Diego Tech Company leads the way as a company of inventors. Qualcomm cares deeply about science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). It is part of who they are and the foundation for everything they do. Through their Qualcomm® Thinkabit Lab™ program, they aim to show students from all cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds that they can be part of inventing the wireless world of the future with their Tech for Good Project. Students use Internet of Things Solutions to solve global problems in education, health care, public safety, entrepreneurship, and environmental sustainability, which are part of the Qualcomm® Wireless Reach™ priority sectors and similar to the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals.
You don't have to be an expert to do good in the world. You can make your ideas come to life by designing prototypes of your ideas. One way to do this is using an Arduino to power a robotic invention. Here are two San Diego teachers who spent the summer at Qualcomm learning about how to incorporate tech to do good.
